Woolwich is in the London Borough of Greenwich and is located near areas such as Greenwich, Plumstead, Eltham & Blackheath. Due to the area's ongoing development, Woolwich has grown in popularity. With excellent transport links, there is high demand from commuters in Central London.

Historically, Woolwich was an important military and naval area. Many of the weapons and machinery used by the British army and navy originated from Woolwich Arsenal. The army vacated the area in 1994, and Woolwich was redeveloped, creating stunning places to live and work.

Woolwich is a popular commuting town partly due to its excellent transport links. Woolwich Arsenal station provides regular trains to central London and parts of Kent. The newly opened Elizabeth Line (24th May 2022) has up to 12 trains per hour to Canary Wharf (in just 8 minutes) and connects you to central London and even Heathrow Airport in just 50 minutes. A quick hop onto the Woolwich ferry and Excel and City Airport are nearby, giving access to many UK and European cities.

The transport links are one good thing, but the area also sits close to the beautiful leafy regions in Greenwich and Blackheath. Both locations offer lots to see, from parks, museums, restaurants and bars. Popular developments to buy and rent in Woolwich and surrounding areas are Royal Arsenal Riverside and Dock 28.
